E-Course Giveaway!

Blogging....

Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed with it? This year has been so difficult for me, I cannot seem to gather of my thoughts, I feel as if what I have to share doesn't compare to what is out there. I just feel a little {blah}...

I then have to remember why I started blogging in the first place. Blogging for me has always been about sharing my passions. Photography, gathering farm finds, my life on a cattle ranch and farm, the beauty of cattle grazing in the prairie green pasture....blogging has given me the opportunity to really focus on what these mean to me. It gives me the opportunity to break each one apart, to study and sink my roots deeper into the soul of these passions. Then to share with you all what truth I saw in a photo, why the beauty of a certain piece whispered to me, why a cow can bring peace to my heart.

With that said, trying to create a space {worthy} of these passions can really take the joy out of a person...not kidding you, just ask me about the new blogger interface...gggrrr...
It can take so much of your precious time; time you would have spent {sinking your roots into the soul}. We all know how fleeting these moments can be and how intentional we have to be with our time. My dear friend Kim {a true kindred spirit} and Xanthe {whom I have yet to meet but just know for certain we are kindred spirits :0) }, to rescue! Check out the new e-course they are bringing to the e-course frenzy...

{a small glimpse of where they create beauty}

An A to the men people! Isn't that what it is all about! Blogging your passion, and creatively to boot. Here is Kim's and Xanthe's short version of what this new e-course covers and why it would help a girl out...

We will share the details of how and what we shoot, our processing secrets and finally how we share all this on our sites.

We are all unique. The key to great blogging lies in authenticity and sharing your true passion.
The student will leave this course with a clear vision of their blogging mission....concrete ideas to make it happen....and inspiration to spread their unique vision.

This is not a technical blog-building eCourse. We will not be showing you how to create a blog from scratch. However we will offer some great resources for this. Building a blog is really just the beginning..... It's what you pour into it that's key.

In this class, we will take you behind the scenes…sharing our daily creative process. We will share the ins and outs of what we shoot, how we shoot and finally how we share it on our blogs.

Wanna know how we put a post together? Want tips on staying focused and getting your post written quickly and efficiently? We are sharing it all.

How 'bout tutorials on all the extra little touches...such as image layouts, blog headers, buttons, mouseovers, animation, slide shows, and even short films....Want tips for telling a story with your photos? We got it covered.

Having trouble finding focus? finding your voice? It's hard! But we have lots of tips to share.

We're super excited to share all this and much more with you.

For more information on what is covered in the course and the long version of why this is going to be absolutely amazing on all levels, head on over to Reflection of You and check out Behind the Scenes information page...

I couldn't be more excited about this! Finding focus is exactly what I need right now, and since blogging is about sharing...guess what friends...Kim and Xanthe have been SO generous in offering a spot to a lucky Faded Prairie reader!! Whoot, Whoot!

So tell us what passion{s} do you want to give voice to? What direction would you *love* for your little piece of blogland to go in? Just leave a little note here to be entered, of course sharing the news about this giveaway will give you extra chances also {be sure to leave a link please}!

*Giveaway will end Friday night, 5:00p.m. MST*
*Open to all US and international friends*

Good luck to you all!

I understand the challenge of gathering thoughts. I, too, have struggled with it this year. Oddly enough, I'm passionate about storytelling.

Two passions: photography & natural health, w/concentration on therapeutic essential oils.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I have multiple passions! Agriculture and farm life, family, photography, baking/cooking, crafting, and who knows what else. I guess that's why my posts are so random! :)

Hello, visiting from your link on Kim's site. Your intro made me laugh - i've just posted about having a big old case of the blahs too! My passions are photography, storytelling and stretching my creative wings. Would be lovely if I could make my blog as pretty as it is in my head!

My passion in blogland? At the moment I am really enjoying blogging about photography and sharing my editing tips.

I would love to be able to see the creative process of others!

I sometimes forget why I started my blog because I do get caught up in the management of if all. Thanks for the reminder of getting back to my "passion".

Photography is my main passion and because of that passion, my house is a total wreck these days, especially since I have just moved.

Honestly, I would love to just get back in to it, I am knitting, creating, photographing, taking courses, having amazing thoughts as I work my way through The Artist's Way but the blogging feels like work. Maybe if it was better I would get more feedback and then feel engaged again? I do feel out of the loop.

I would love to have some ideas on staying focused and getting fresh ideas for content. I know I have "it" in me, but it doesn't just come naturally to post. I think I need to see my world with new eyes to see the possibilities.

Thanks for the chance,
Judy

BTW, I love your bolder banner. Maybe you've had it up for a while, but I'm just now noticing. :-)

I'd love to find my voice and not be afraid of opening up to others about how I really feel and respond to what I see through the lens!

I've been eyeing this class...I haven't blogged in about 6 months and not very regularly in years. I think I lost my voice - maybe it was worry that nothing I did was enough, maybe I was having trouble putting my thoughts into words - I'm not sure, but I think it would be lovely to get it back! I love creating art, photography and trying my hand at doing more writing. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!! xo

So nice of you to host this giveaway! I understand completely the blahs; the "who am I to think I have something to say?"; the "I hate changes"--blogger interface (I'm still on the old interface 'cause I like it that way), FB updates (I haven't updated to timeline!), job layoffs (job searching, wishing I was having more success).

Thank you for sharing your blahs. Sometimes it helps me feel more human.

I'd love to have an opportunity to take Kim's Behind the Scenes.
Thanks so much.

As a person living with Asperger's Syndrome and the chronic pain condition fibromyalgia, I would love to show others the life-changing and transformative power of getting their creative "juices" flowing. My passion for photography has literally been life-changing for me (and sometimes I even think life-saving). I want to find a way to show others that, even though it feels safest to be guarded and strong when dealing with disabilities, sickness, and pain, that letting go and being open to creating art can be theraputic, calming, and healing in the most powerful ways. I'm still not sure exactly how to do this, but I feel so inspired to try :) Some days when I'm feeling really disconnected from my body, blogs like Kim Klassen's and Shutter Sisters remind me that there's a larger artistic community out there that I'm part of even if I'm struggling physically. I would love to be able to lift others up and show them that they're not alone with their struggles. I'd love to create a healing community where people feel safe being exactly who they are, and also know that they can be artists and creatives too.

It's really funny how I have been thinking a lot lately about my voice. How I am using it and whether I should change it or try something else. But I love writing in my blog and the first reason I started it was to help me though a rough spot-well I'm still in a rough spot and writing keeps me from going nuts-but I do lose focus. You even inspired my post today on the subject of voice on

Love the new look of the blog. Kind of modern, shabby chic and prairie, all rolled into one great look. Glad to know everything is okay.

I am also visiting from Kim's site. I have been always on and off with blogging. Sometimes it seems worth it and other times, not so much but I promised myself this year, I'd keep up if only for myself . . . I have two passions . . . one for journaling just for me and one for sharing my photography. I would love for my blogs to not be such a mess!

I'm also visiting from Kim's site. :)

It sounds as though I'm not alone - trying to find the faith and courage to put myself out there and Just Start. I keep trying to blog about things that inspire or motivate me, photography and I also want to write about real life and struggles and how to just keep pushing forward. I love the passion that Kim and Zanthe show in everything they do! :)

Blogging helped me find confidence in my photographic talent and allowed me to meet some wonderful people that otherwise wouldn't have come into my life. But, it's been disappointing in that it's so hard to attract and hold an audience. I'd love to learn new skills that might help me to feel like my blog is just a shout into the dark. Been considering is course but having trouble taking the leap,

I'd love to learn how to keep going. I've neglected my blog for a long time, and it's hard to find the motivation to get back at it. I would really like for my blog to be a place others can visit and come away refreshed and inspired!

We'll I can see others feel uncertain about what to put out there in the world but also feeling comfortable knowing what to blog about. Being a creative soul whom loves a variety of different crafts, I feel that I'm not really offering anything new because there are so many others that are doing a wonderful job already.

My passion is photography (still very new at it) and we all know that subject is not lacking on the world wide web. My creative side is filled with making jewelry from vintage finds, hand coloring images, mixed media art journals, and other things that come my way. It's hard to really know what would be interesting enough to even have people follow my blog. It would be great fun to make a bit of cash by having an Etsy shop, shoplifly, or big cartel store on my blog to help pay for the classes I'd love to take from my favorites like Kim Klassen's & Xanthe's class but also wonder what would be the best thing to sell?

My deepest passion is to save America's Wild Horse, the Mustang. Maybe sell images to help pay for hay or somehow keep the BLM from round ups..., but that is a dream, I'm not sure how to touch.

My personal life has been touched deeply by the Mustangs as I owned one for years, but also, my life changed drastically because of a bad fall. Should I give up because of my own physical pain and suffering or can I somehow figure out a way to use a blog to help me though my hard days and good days?

I wonder about many things when it comes down to blogging but for now I think this e-course "Refections of You" speaks to me with much curiosity.

Warm regards,
Karla

I had much the same reaction as you when I heard about this new class. I've been in a bit of a slump blog-wise for much of this year so far and am looking forward to the class offerings as well as the stimulation of working with other like-minded folks.

As for my passion--too many to count it seems. I love to include photos on my blog but have a hard time fitting worthwhile photography into my schedule and I have a passion for words--where did they come from, how are they used, how are they evolving, etc.

I must admit I don't blog half as much as I'd like to, but my passion at this stage in my life is for living healthily and longer, because I want to eat well and stay fit! (Just in case my daughter has kids and I become a grandma!!)

Thanx. Is this the way to have a chance at the give-away class? I was just catching up on e-mail & sites I subscribe to & saw your offer.
I have spent so much time in the woods hiking & taking pictures that I haven't had too much time for blogging & don't have a clue how to do it! I do have an old web page w/ photos. I quilt & use pics to make my own fabric with photoshop & coreldraw. I love the journaling/sketchbook aspect of blogging & the possibility of of sharing w/ like-minded souls. Life changed & I can no longer hike but have thousands & thousands of photos to "act" on now & time to do it. I have lots to say about lots of things especially connected with Ma Nature, my experiences in "seeing" in the woods, color, sounds, time, pain & simple things like the meaning of life. I don't know anybody interested in listening to what I have to say but that doesn't need to stop me. I believe I am meant to create, keep learning & maybe leave something good behind.

I would love to win a spot in this class. I started my blog this February and I know the class will be a huge help and inspiration. My passions are photography, Photoshop, metal smithing, making jewelry, nuno felting, playing mah jongg, my dogs, my love and traveling. I blog about them all. Plus I just joined an artist's collective and will be wanting to get the word out about that. I'm currently taking Kim Klassen's Beyond Layers class and she is amazing. Any class with her is bound to be fantastic.

I would love to win a seat in the class to help me transition my blog from a personal way to keep in touch with friends back home, to a more professional one where I can build a bigger audience for my photography.
I would love the "gathering thoughts" help. :)
Thank you!

I need encouragement to help me be more real - to help me share more of my truth. I've been blogging for years but have recently switched to a new name. I'm loving the Beyond Layers class too!! Thanks much

Reading other people's blogs have always provided inspiration to me. It never really occurred to me that other people might find what I am passionate about equally interesting. I love photography -opening a new texture or action just excites me to no end-knitting, photo editing, quilting, kitties,-. I would love to win a spot on Kim and Xanthe's new e-course.

I am passionate about photography and quilting and my children. I already blog, about all of these, plus I have a project called Sisterhood of the traveling bras. However, it is struggle to stay up to date. I would love to be inspired to write better blogs.

I came to this site from Kim's and love what I see. I am passionate about making art with whatever I have around. I pick up found objects all the time. I am passionate about color and balance and rhythm whether it is in a t-shirt quilt for a client or a collage or painting for me. I am passionate about life even more so as I sit with my husband who is in hospice. I have already signed up for Kim's class, but I have a friend to whom I want to give this class if I win if that is possible. If not, choose someone else. Thank you.

I have many interests (mission work, helping our two young-adult sons start their families, old things/new things, cooking, crafts, photography (wish I knew how! LOL), & (wishing I knew how to)keeping this old computer going so I can get a bit organized & get things done . . .

With multiple chronic disease processes going on, I find things difficult.

I need the right kind of focus! :-)

Oh a free spot in this class would be so wonderful! I would like to learn more tricks on making the photos look really pretty... placing them in sets of 2 or three - adding frames, etc.
