this prairie girl survived the weekend...
but just barely...
it might not have been possible if i hadn't consumed oodles of ribbon fries and my new found *love* deep fried strawberries with chocolate sauce and powder sugar...
sigh....{bliss} :0)
really is there anything more satisfying than a weekend spent with strawberries and some good wrangler wearing cowboys?!? :0)
i think not....
soon i was questioning all those strawberries when my old soul son who is eight mind you informed me he would be participating in this rodeo...
no, not the little buckaroo rodeo...
the main rodeo, for grown wrangler wearing, tough, crazy, what in the world are they thinking men...
you see he decided it would be great fun for his dad to pull him in the hide race...
a race where a cowboy on horseback pulls an old tanned cowhide full speed behind a galloping horse...
i tried to capture it for you, but remember i'm not pioneer woman and my photography basically sucks when it comes to action shots but...
here is the husband with the cowhide racing down to the end of the arena where my wee, small, fragile, first born is waiting to grab hold...

This was hands down the BEST part of the rodeo this year! Hilarious!
that sounds like the most fun, proudest mom and wife moment ever! how fun! those strawberries sound amazing!
I'm sure glad we had our horse there so everyone could join in on the events, I didn't think she would pull that hide, the 3 of them were quite the team:)
Oh, how fun! We are gearing up for our rodeo next week. I wish we had this event...the pictures are great! I am looking for those strawberries:).

"deep fried strawberries with chocolate sauce and powder sugar..."
Oh my word, never had such a thing. But it sounds delish!!!!
Wow, the cowhide race looks wild. I've never seen that before. We spent our weekend ranch rodeoin' too.
Thanks for sharing those Wrangle Blues, Boots and boys with us. I love me some cowboys. BTW - the stawberries would be good for dessert after all the eye candy!
LOVE IT! I will hopefully be going to a rodeo this weekend. That is....if the kiddos I'll be wrangling can handle it. :)
After almost 26 years of marriage my husband and I have seen many changes in our lives. Homes remodeled, furniture styles changed, new jewelery, better cooking and better wines than when we were first married. But one constant in our life has been those beautiful old, well worn wranglers my cowboy wears.
Great pics! Loved the shot of the little one being dragged to the finish line!!
I think this post just made my week complete.... thank you :)
I have only been to a rodeo twice in my life and Loved it both times.
Your little guy is amazing! It really shows how much he trusts his daddy , doesn't it? Not just anyone is going to pull him behind that horse!
strawberries and chocolate...mmmm. I don't remember anything that yummy at the rodeo I was at :)

Deep fried, strawberries, chocolate and powdered sugar?! Seriously....any one of those by itself sounds yummy - but together?! Way to indulge girl :D
