Traveling Prairie Girl Celebrates...

Photobucket

i'm off girls to meet two boys, a queen, a fancy farmgirl {hopefully} and a shabby bella...just to name a few...

i cannot tell you how excited this prairie girl is...

another dream of mine finally coming true...

the finds are going to be absolutely amazing and i feel like celebrating don't you?!?

so...

i think it is about time that this little lady had a name...

Photobucket

she has been my pride and joy, she has made my shops what they are today and added a little something different to this simple blog of mine...

so girls let's give HER something to be proud of!

simply leave a little comment for her letting her know what fabulous, unique, vintage-inspired, romantic prairie name you would give her...

once i get back from the barn i will put your suggestions to the toughest critics...

3 opinionated, out-spoken, rowdy, prairie kids and one down to earth, wanting to name everything sam {including all three children, horses, dogs, cattle what-not} cowboy husband... :0)

my darling cow and i look forward to seeing what you all come up with...

winner will receive a box full of faded, chippy, rusted, white, goodness {is that incentive enough?!?} from this prairie girl's trip to the great northwest

good luck and i'll see you back here on the prairie monday!!

I just really think Maybelle is always the best name for a cow.

Franny Pauline (FP - faded prairie).

You are livin the dream girl! Find lots, 'kay?

Tamra said...

Bessie. sounds like "dressy" but I remember in old cowboy movies hearing cows often referred to as Bessie or ol' Bess.

Although with her crown you could just call her "Queen".

Have a wonderful and safe trip. Look forward to hearing all the details!

*Savanna Bliss*

(exceptional happiness on a beautiful prairie...)

(tell your children that i tried really hard to think of something rough & wild for them, but looking at that sweet cow, it just had to be something pretty.)

I hope you come home with a lot of new finds!

Special K-
You're going to have such a fun time in your element there w/those Barn House boys & crew! My son (age 4) suggests "Fiona" as in Fiona from the well-loved movie, Shrek =) I adore a stately name like Whilimena ("Mia" for short ;) &/or Isabella ("Bella" for short ;). Take good care...bring back some cool prairie finds!
Hugs, angie d. xo

How about something a little dignified...like Miss Eleanor? Ellie for short? Also, her initials would be ME...sort of cool. BTW, envious of your little excursion!

Ruthie...that is a good Farm Name...well it was my Granny's name and she was an Iowa Farm Girl:)

I'm envisioning you in your element!

"Queen Charolais" ... well she is French isn't she?

The Charolais Cattle Breed was developed in the area around Charolles in Central France, where the French had been keeping records on them for more than 200 years. Charolais is the first continental breed to be imported into Great Britain. This cow came to the United States in 1934 when the Mexican Secretary of Agriculture gave Mecum Michaelis of Kyle, Texas, two Charolais bulls.

My oh my, I wish I was travelling along with you. I hope you have the best time...

I think you should name her Royal Brina or Brina RoyalE...;) With my good ol Irish self, I had to go with an Irish name...Brina...meaning strong. You need to be strong to withstand the wind, ice, cold, heat of of the blazing prairie sun...You just need to be plain strong to live on the prairie...whether you are a wife, daughter, sister...or gosh, a cow, I think the prairie breeds strength.

Miss Bella...meaning she's the most beautiful girl you will ever see. Every feature that she posseses is engraved in your mind from the second you lay eyes on her. Bella is not limited to just physical features, her personality is equally as beautiful. You wonder how it is that a creature this extraordinary can exist, but find yourself just appreciating the fact that she exists, and even better yet, that you know her. :)

She looks like our cow when I was growing up. Her name was Fawne.

With her crown she looks so regal,
Her name can't possibly be crude,
So I think if she were my pal,
I would call her Queen Gertrude!

Happy naming

I love your blog and your style.
I found your blog from a posting about Barn House. I am so jealous that you got to go.
I got to meet one of the Barn Boys in Oregon City at a show.
I also love your cow gal.
I think a cute name would be Her Majesty Divine Bovine or Ms. D for short. I will be back. Leslie

My first thought was Clara Belle, then there was Mildred (Millie), but then there was Emmaline & Caroline. Honestly I can't pick just one - however will you?
Can't wait to hear. Thanks so much for the generous giveaway opportunity - there's going to be one happy cow (it's hard wandering thru life without a name) and one happy reader in the future!

I'm probably too late...I always am...but I have to play 'cause that's how I roll. First thing I thought of was Hugh Heifer, but that's kinda a guy's name, right?
Several popped into my head like Milk'nhoney, Clara Bella, Buttermilk, Sage, Brie and Swiss Miss. Then I thought all fancy/schmancy Fille de Ferme, but the name that kept singing out was Sweet Beulah Land.
She's a charmer and definitely needs a unique name.
Debbie
