one chore the kids look forward to all summer long is trailing our pasture cows out to daylight...
it is one of the first trailings of the long fall season...
this year they wondered which horse they could pack...
they needed a stove, a tent, and some jerky?!?!...
evidently the grown-ups weren't invited on this cattle drive...
needless to say it didn't happen...
at least i could blame it on being a school night and not my fear of turning them loose by themselves out under the prairie stars...
