Prairie Island...

happy monday my dear girls!!

we have been swimming in rain this wonderful day...

sigh...there is nothing better than the smell of dry, prairie soil soaking in that wonderful moisture...*bliss*...

this past weekend i happened to stop by the thrift store...

and what should my junking eye land upon..

Photobucket

a wonderful antique drafting table...

in prairie green...

Photobucket

can you believe i almost passed on this beauty?!?...

i wasn't sure about bringing her home until i realized she had been marked down 50%...

i know...i shop the sales at the thrift store?!!??...

the husband should be proud right?!?

Photobucket

she is quite heavy duty and should hold up well here on the prairie...

she might be replaced in the near future by #4...

whom i just can't quit thinking about...

but for right now she has settled in quite nicely here...

{*thank you* to joy @ savvy city farmer for making faded prairie her featured blog for the month of august! go on over and say hello...she is truly amazing and such a kindred spirit!!}

If I find my new zinc pitcher anywhere on the prairie, you may find your new island somewhere in Nebraska! :) I love it and can you imagine how sick you would have been if you really did pass on it. Good thrifting eye!! It looks great with the floors ~

ps - I think you should consider selling those two stools in the corner in your shop!

Have a great evening in your new kitchen!

What a fabulous kitchen island!! Ok but just how much was it after the 50% off? Us thrift store junkies gotta know the score!

Really looks great.

Hi Kristin,
Wowza...awesome island!! It looks great in your kitchen! You won't find another kitchen with one like it and that's what I LOVE about it. ;o)
I got my goodies that I ordered from your Etsy shop today (yay!). I was so excited that I danced a little jig (lol)! Everything was just as you pictured it... gorgeous! Thank you for all the little "extra" goodies. I loved the antique bank receipts and that little playing card...so sweet! I'll be posting about them on my blog for White Wednesday, and then later when I show where I placed them in my home.
Thanks again!!
Hugs ~ Jo :)
