...when i was little...i rode my horse...
...i wish i could be...a horse...
...i would rather read...than feed my chickens...
...i do not like...to feed my chickens...
...i love it when...my horse rares up...{what the?!?}
...i am afraid...of nothing...

when does life become so complicated...there is so much i can learn from my children...to find pure joy in the simplest forms, to desire from life only cherished moments...to be gentle in all we do and love unconditionally...
i hope you all have a fabulous weekend...it looks as if we might actually have a touch of spring today...yay!! which translate into putting together wheel lines so we can start irrigating...yay??

Such a great post, Kristin!! Out of the mouths of babes, as they say...
We do tend to complicate things as we get older, don't we?? :)
Have a great prairie weekend! :)

Kristin, I love his sweet answers! Make sure you keep that list, and when you pull it out in ten years you will tear up!
Can't wait to hear his answers at 10...and 12...
Happy weekend to you, too!

Hi Kristin!
Wow, what a wonderful kiddo! He sounds like an old soul. I love that last one...."I am afraid of...nothing". Awesome!
Thanks so much for your visit and for your thoughts on my cubby post, much appreciated. :-)
Have a wonderful day!

"I never want to forget my mom" -- be still my beating heart! Encouragement for us moms comes at unexpected times in unexpected places!
i love your blog so much. I feel relaxed when I read it. My daughter feels about dolphins the way your son feels about horses. She keeps telling me she's going to work with dolphins one day.
this was so beautiful!!! and you are so right...I love children's answers so much to simple questions...and that picture of your son is just gorgeous!!! Love it!
Kristen... that was awesome. Wish I had thing written down like that when my kids were young. All the "wish I would have..."; you won't have any of them. Love the photo, too.
beautiful post :)
Ok Kristin, this lovely post actually made me tear up. You are so right about the joy in simple things. Thank you for the reminder!
Cheers,
Veerle
Oh...I love that! I think he likes horses!!!! Love the picture of him in his cowboy hat too:):)
Hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day!!
TTFN,
Kristin
I love the memories of growing up in the country and cant wait for my kids to have the same memories. The simplicity of our lives is sometimes some of our greatest blessings.
Love this post. Love that kid. Reminds me so much of my middle son when he was that age. Pure, simple pleasure... a boy and his horse, and one who loves his momma too. Spring on the prairie means a lot of work. I can relate to this one also. Have a great week and yes, I am going to cross my fingers for the cook book.
