Rancher's needs...

i showed my last post to the husband..

i didn't receive the eyeball roll girls....

i got the sideway glance with the comment ~aren't they going to finish it??~

hhhmmmm...

i think i may have to do some work on that man...

since he is not all on board with the chair...

maybe just maybe i can convince him he needs the following....

show him i'm thinking of his needs as a rancher when decorating the home...:0)

this would compliment to the winter wonderland we live in perfectly...

Photobucket

we seem to collect every kind of bull sale, farm implements, seed, fertilizer and soil conservation catalog available; i thought why not give them a gorgeous home...

Photobucket

we couldn't say no to the matching side tables could we...

Photobucket

it seems this prairie girl will be reading a lot of farm catalogs...

why not bring a little stylish glow to that old gelbvieh bull...

Photobucket

oh....i have forgotten that we need a place for the western cowman magazine...

so we have this....

Photobucket

this prairie girl and her rancher *love* benches...we also *love* the look of tolix chairs...

why not place a couple of these side by side with a burlap cushion going the length...oh and maybe some ruffles...sigh...

Photobucket

now how about some wall decor...

we have a passion for wall sconces...

these are fashioned after the old trouble lights we could have a few to light the way when there is trouble in the middle of the night on the farm...

Photobucket

we have to watch the clock closely so we can be online at the right time to place the winning bid on those pure bred heifers, we must have a clock...

but we live in a tiny farmhouse...

not much space for a grandfather clock...

i thought this might do the trick...

a real working wallpaper clock...

Photobucket

what do you think...

will he think twice about giving me the eyeball roll and the sideways glance all in one week?...

do you think he will like how i'm thinking of designing the whole room around his needs?...

i think so too... ;0)

That couch looks like the blue one that was in my Anthro store. I wanted it soooo bad but even at 50% off it was $1500. I went by the other day and it was gone ~sigh~ Just wasn't meant to be I guess.

I am liking that metal lamp with the twisty top ~ very nice!

Aren't you the sweetest designing a room all around hubby's needs! ;)

You smart smart lady. I sure hope he understands what you are doing for him. You are so unselfish.

BTW...I love all of it and certainly think it would be beneficial in meeting your needs.

Doesn't every man know that some of the best things in life can be found there? All your blogland friends can relate.

I think the way to go is to try to include things that I know hubby will like...that way I know he is on board and then i throw in the extras that I love...key word is "try"

You're so cute Kristin! I can't wait to see what you do with that incredible chair of yours...I love it left unfinished, but just in case your hubby insists, I'm sure you can work your magic and turn it into something even more fabulous once covered!!! I just love your style! Such cool furniture you featured in this post!!

Oh, I love the wall sconce light! You had me cracking up this whole post! I just popped in for a visit from The Shabby Nest (then your etsy site, which I love!) and wanted to say hello! I so enjoyed reading this post, and your blog is lovely! :) I will definitely be back again ASAP!

Have a good night! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE that lamp, the one to cast new light on the Gelbvieh bull. It's right up my taste and style alley! (Both the lamp and the Gelbvieh)
I have to tell ya- I'm originally from Utah and I love that following your blog gives me just a little taste of home.

Came her via the Shabby Nest. Just came for a peek and then I had to stay for awhile. And I'll definitely be back. After each picture in this post I was like ooh, I love that. Then I would like the next one even better! But the lamp with the blue shade just made me stop and stare for awhile. Love your taste.
