M29X...

*thank you* everyone for the congratulations and support on the artful blogging article!

i'm not sure it really has hit, even with the magazine in hand :0)

while we are in the middle of gathering cows, spring farming, and baseball, baseball, baseball my oldest son decided to join 4-H also...

showing a steer...

M29X...

a purebred, 1000 lb gelbvieh steer...

yes, that was our steer that tried jumping out of the chute when it came to weigh in...

yes, he has his way with my 75 lb lanky boy...

yes, he is suppose to be tame enough to follow ian around, have a wash down, and allow ian trim the calico upon his forehead...

uuummm....

we have a LOT of work ahead of us... :0)

Umm, know what that's like. Both our boys (12 and 14) are in 4-H and it gets a little easier when the kids get a little weight behind them. Or maybe the livestock they pick just gets bigger. He'll have a lot of fun and learn invaluable skills.

Good for him! 4-H is alot of work but so much fun and rewarding! My daughter couldn't even see over her steer! As my kids got older, we steadily went to animals that were not quite as much work as cattle because of all of those baseball/softball games. Sheep and then hogs. How I miss those days! Enjoy!

Hmmmmm....I don't know if I'd trust that big boy just yet, Kristin! lol! I'm a little unsure of the look on that massive face! :)

Growing up, I always wanted to be in 4H! Now I am a city girl and I'm lucky to see a raccoon in the alley!
