Christmas Tree 2010...

well the first week of december has come and gone...

yes, i might have spoken a little early in my whole christmas shopping...

but when does it end??

so no fruitcake for this prairie girl until this weekend...

my thighs are thanking me...

so after our whole adventure hunting for the perfect christmas tree, i have to admit i wasn't too sure...

but i do believe this has to be our very {best} christmas tree yet...

the kids have a little tree in their room so i was able to go all neutral and romantic with the decorations this year...

i usually have red poinsettias but thought the white would bring everything together...

i really have to say i'm in *love* with them...

i did all new handcrafted ornaments this year...

really raw and natural...

prairie {linen} round ornaments...

and antique doilies turned {snowflakes}...

the doilies have to be my absolute *favorites*...

i will give you better photos and a little tutorial tomorrow...

really easy and add a touch of raw beauty to the tree...

sorry about the blurry photos...

i'm wanting a new tripod for christmas...

but since i received a early christmas to myself i'm not betting on one...

i couldn't be more *excited* about my early christmas though...

the new lens is divine and i can't believe i have lived without this long!! ;0)

the gingerbread man has been spotted in "someplace far away" so says my little mccrae...i'm hoping for a little more detail to pass onto you all but you know 5 year olds...;0)

What a pretty tree!

You know I always notice your decor. I love the white chair in the left corner. Also, the (I don't know the proper name for them) but the corner things on the window top. Lovely!

Oh my! I am in LOVE with your living room. In love. I would like to curl up in front of that tree right. now. Beautiful!

I think that's brilliant that the kid's have a tree in their room, then no one's school ornaments get left out and they must be so enthused to have their own tree. Again-such a good mom!

I loved seeing the full room and yes, it is the most beautiful tree! So white and bright!

Smart thinking with the tree in the kids rooms ~ I'm having an all white tree this year finally. :)

My gosh that bowl with the poinsettias is amazing!!! I got pink ones this year...they are so pretty by the fire.
Hope you are enjoying the season ~

I love the tree it makes such a statement and looks like something we would have seen a 100 years ago (minus the lights of course). Will you keep the theme by wrapping your gifts in natural papers and colors or will gifts be placed somewhere else?
Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Kristin - that is a beautiful tree! I truly believe that simple is always better. It really lets the beauty and shape of the tree shine! And what a fun look at your living room! Loved seeing that! :)

What lens did you get? And what type of camera do you use? Your photos are always so stunning.... :)

Beautiful tree!

My children will not allow anything but colored lights and "fun" ornaments. The rest of the home decor is mine, the tree is theirs.

Love, love, love it...a beautiful tree!

That tree is just stunning . . . my preference runs to the more *open*, natural tree (instead of the shaved-within-an-inch-of-their-lives "cone" trees). The ornaments show up beautifully. (I'm taking a crocheted angel tree top ornament to 2nd Saturdayz this weekend.)

Look forward to hearing how far "Gingie" got!!

Lovely, Kristin! Everything looks so warm and inviting.

I have that very same dough bowl in my home. My husband calls it my "birch canoe" and said he was going to strap it to the top of the car when he picked it up for my b-day a few years back. Silly, boy...it's an accessory holder!!!
