Trust...

sometimes i'm a chicken...

yep...

a big {red} headed chicken...

especially when it comes to putting my creative self {out there}...

i'm afraid...

of failure...

of not being {good} enough...

constantly comparing myself to others...

when i lost my dad years ago, there were many regrets...

that day i vowed to try and not go through life with regrets...

with what {might} have been...

with that in mind...

i entered a photo of mine...

into a contest to become a tester for the new florabella textures that are about to be released...

when i submitted it i instantly regretted it...

i should have done a different one...

i should have done something bigger and more dramatic...

but guess what...

all the self doubting, worry, and something of {embarrassment} for trying...

were for nothing...

i am SO excited....shana rae and her judges picked my photo as one of the 5 winning photos!!

i will be receiving a set of the new textures and will get to play to my {heart's} content!

i've talked about courage and strength on my creative journey...

but it also takes trust...

trust in myself and my {gifts}...

to unfurl my wings and soar to my full potential...

there is no greater feeling...

Good for you. We are our own worst enemies at times, just have to be a friend to ourselves & give a little pep talk. Wouldn't let a friend say "it's not good enough" right?
Glad you were proven wrong in this case & it was fab ;)

Congratulations, kristin. That is very exciting and so well deserved. I love your red headed chicken. (You could say I'm partial to redheads.) You are a beautiful old soul with so much talent. Believe that. I doubt myself just as you do though...such is the creative mind, I guess. Hooray for you, sweet girl!

Hi to a Wayne Co. neighbor! I had no idea you had this blog until I saw it tonight. I knew you had a store at one time and then an etsy store? Anyway, I am so impressed..is this your photography? It is really awesome, as good or better than any I have seen out there. I noticed that a few who leave comments to you also do on my blog. I'm just proud of you for having such a neat blog..way to go! Come say hi on mine sometime :D

Kristin,
I just found your blog thru Julie Harward's. The title of your post caught my attention.
I design knitted baby hats. Every time I put a new pattern out to {go live} the second guessing begins. It does take courage and trust. I have to consciously make an effort to just let go of the doubt and go with my creative instincts. In a word, Trust.

Congratulations and thank you for a good reminder!

I am so thrilled that they picked your picture but it's no suprise. you are so full of talent and one of the nicest people that are just real!
When I lost my dad a few years ago it really opened up my eyes to so much. I had to stop having things hold me back and I had to stop with the self doubt, I'm not good enough. Blogging has done wonders for me and it's given me wonderful friends like you!
Keep doing what your doing girl!

Girl... I totally feel ya.
I am so neurotic everytime I try something...BUT this is why we creative types are called to be brave.
What a dull colorless world if we never risked.
Thank you for feeling the fear and doing it any way!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! OMgosh! That is so exciting!!! ..and I might add, well deserved. I LOVED that photo when you posted but then again, I love every photo you post. I know how you feel because I feel the same insecurities. You give me more courage to try. Thank you AGAIN for all you have done and continue doing for me. So glad I can watch your example and learn.

I believe in karma and you are always helping and doing for others... I KNOW good things are just going to keep coming your way. ;o)

It's pretty clear that others appreciate what you do and, even more importantly, who YOU are! Your thoughts resonate in all our hearts . . . self doubt doesn't just disappear as you get further along in life. When that happens to me (and it does!), I recognize that negative voice as my ego--which is not truly who I am.

Blogs have a huge upside and, alternatively, can bring out insecurities, competitive angst, etc. There is so much inspiration and talent out there . . . and YOU'VE got it in spades, my friend!

Can't wait to meet you in person, and thanks for your comments on my blog--so much appreciated!

Bay hugs,

~ Debi
